Since before even traveling to Hawaii, we have been excited to hike up to see some of the many picturesque waterfalls on the island! When the weather was just right, we set out for the nearby Manoa Falls.

The trail, we blaze!!!

…

THAT trail, we blaze!

The 150ft waterfall is nestled in a mountainous tropical rain forest surrounded by over 5,000 species of plants. Not much needs to be said for this vast beautiful terrain, though pictures cannot do it justice, the scenery certainly speaks for itself.

Ever seen the movie FernGully?

All that’s missing from this bamboo thicket, are some pandas.

We arrived at Manoa Falls!

People seemed to think these signs were optional. lol However, we were perfectly happy with the views of the falls from where we were!

I think Danny got inspired by nature…

“You must be swift as a coursing river…”

“…With all the force of a great typhoon…”

“…With all the strength of a raging fire…”

“…Mysterious as the dark side of, the MOOOOOON!!”

Of course, we couldn’t end our journey without snapping some pictures of the local wildlife aka these rainforest chickens.

Even from the outside, these canopied peaks draw curiosity and wonder.
