Coastal

It is the rainy season here in Hawaii, so a lot of our days have been filled with cloudy skies and frequent showers. So on the first couple of sunny days we experienced since we got here, we had to make it a point to get outside!

I had heard about this food truck that serves musubis, which are basically sushi ingredients made into shapes that resemble a burger or a sandwich. We decided to check it out, and drove out to where its usual location supposedly is, but sadly it turned out they weren’t parked there that day. Oh well! We will definitely try to catch them again soon. What we did find, was an amazing coastal view. It’s so hard to capture the beauty of the ocean, the mountains, the plants and the sky in a photograph, but we had to try just the same.

On another sunny day, we wanted to grab some lunch while soaking in some of that beach scenery, so we headed on down to Waikiki where we ate at Waikiki Beachside Bistro. I had a Kapahulu Burger which is a burger stacked high with smoked mozzarella, onion rings, mixed greens, tomato, and rosemary aioli, all on a toasted bun topped with a skewered pickle, cherry tomato and an olive. It was fantastic! Danny had a juicy Hawaiian style pulled pork sandwich which was also really good. (Fun Fact: We pretty much always share our meals wherever we go, or at least pick off of each other’s plates, so we can both confirm their deliciousness lol).

Sitting down to eat, Waikiki Beach was definitely crowded, but we still couldn’t ignore that coastal allure.
